Covid-19 Precautions

High Holidays

COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS

With high holidays coming up, we are excited to announce that we will be having an outdoor, in person service in a tent that will be open from all sides, like Abraham our forefathers tent :).

With that said, our highest priority is to ensure that everyone is safe and protected. Therefore, we have formed a covid safety committee that is receiving direction directly from Dr. David Goodfriend, the director of the Health Department of Loudoun County. Based on Dr. Goodfriends recommendations and the CDC we wanted to inform you of the precautions we are going to take.

Our goals with running the high holiday services is to minimize the likelihood of anyone infectious being at the service. With that, we will keep people separated from one another as much as possible while minimizing our time together (unfortunately).

  • First and foremost, if you are not feeling well, please stay home. Please check whether you have symptoms before you come to services.

  • Everyone will be required to wear a mask. Your mask is required at all times throughout the service.
  • Chairs under the tent will be six feet from one another, and people will enter the tent one [family] at a time. Families who live in the same household will be able to scoot their chairs closer to one another.

  • We will have portable bathrooms available, and we might be able to use the Van Meter bathrooms as well. We will have hand sanitizer stations inside and outside of the bathrooms so that people can sanitize their hands as they go in and as they come out. We are planning on having someone clean the bathroom after every use.

  • We will not be doing a kids’ service this year so that kids aren’t interacting with each other. Alternatively, we will be putting together kids’ packages for them to use at their seats so that they aren’t too antsy at services. Kids should be next to their parents at all times unless they are running around outside of the tent on the green area with someone watching them.

If you have any questions, concerns, or possible recommendations, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us. We are grateful to be able to hold high holiday services in these unprecedented times. We are always here for you.
