Children will participate in a hands-on demonstration of how to make olive oil to light the menorah on Chanukah.
Introduction- Interactive multimedia review of Chanukah Story and introduction to olive oil pressing
Hands-on - Students will pit raw olives, selecting the olives by color, and determining ripeness. Students will fashion cotton wicks.
Olive Press Demonstration: The presenter will press and refine the olives and will proceed to light the Chanukiya with the olive oil and wicks made during the program.
